The Church of the Peace of God
Since 2006 the congregation has sponsored an annual Snelling Lecture by a distinguished speaker on topical issues of interest to the wider community. It is so named to honour the memory of Mrs Irene Snelling, whose legacy on her death in 2004 enables much of our community outreach.
Past speakers have included the cleric and broadcaster Rev Richard Coles, Baroness Shirley Williams, Sir Simon Jenkins, Baroness Julia Neuberger, Baroness Joan Bakewell, Falklands War veteran Simon Weston and BBC presenter George Alagiah. Recent lectures were given by David Olosuga, Dame Sara Khan, Fergal Keane, Revd John Bell and Isabella Tree.
THE 2026 SNELLING LECTURE will be given by Dr Tony Juniper CBE, chair of Natural England on Friday 27th November at 8pm. Full booking and event details will appear here by early September.
