We seek to be an outward-looking and caring church. Every month we have an extra offering plate after our communion service in aid of a specific charity.
In recent times the congregation has responded generously to international disaster appeals such as in Yemen, in Bangladesh/Myanmar and after the Indonesia tsunami. We have also given regularly to major UK medical charities and to local charities.
Over the Christmas period we have focused our efforts in recent years on helping those living on the streets by raising thousands of pounds for CRISIS, the UK national charity for homeless people.
We also support the URC’s "Commitment for Life" charity that works in partnership with Christian Aid to help in some of the world’s poorest countries. We take a particular interest in aid projects in Zimbabwe.
