Junior Church joins with the congregation for the first part of the Sunday service, before separating into age related groups - 'Sparklers', 'All Stars' and 'Trail Blazers'. Activity material comes from the ecumenical 'Roots' material, based on the Revised Common Lectionary - which is also the basis of the adult service.

FESTIVALS

Christmas, Easter, and Harvest are special times for all the Church and the children play their part. Junior Church also presents its own Children's Festival service in June.

Junior Church supports a small Ugandan community through the charity, Action Aid. This support is focused through Irine, a young Ugandan girl, who regularly writes to the children about her life in the community.

EARLY SUNDAY BREAKFAST

For young people aged 10 years and above, there is the Breakfast Group, meeting monthly in the concourse of the Church. Children and young people from other Churches also attend. After cooked breakfast, there is a group discussion or invited speakers or drama may be presented to the whole Church.

GOOD PRACTICE

The staff meets regularly to plan future programmes. The Church operates a Child Protection Policy, which is reviewed and updated to reflect current best practice. There are currently 10 adult leaders, with Caroline Baylis acting as Convenor and Roy Dickerson as Secretary - see Contacts page.

Children of all ages can expect friendship, fun and encouragement in their faith at the Church of the Peace of God!
